CALLING PORTSMOUTH ASPIRING FILMMAKERS…

Are you an aspiring filmmaker aged 16-19?
Are you passionate about film?
Would you like to develop your skills and gain invaluable insights to work in the film industry?

If that’s you and you have the commitment and drive to complete the course then the Solent / South coast region’s BFI Film Academy, running at City Eye in Southampton, is the place for you!

You’ll be working with professional filmmakers across a range of activities including workshops, masterclasses and screenings; and you’ll get
stuck into all aspects of production, working with other students to make your own short film.

By the end of the course, the group will have crafted a short film which will be screened at a red-carpet premiere for friends and family, and individually will have worked towards their Silver Arts Award.

BFI Film Academy is offering some bursary support for young filmmakers to attend the programme and we (Portsmouth Creates) are delighted to be able to offer additional funding to young people from Portsmouth to enable their involvement.

Applications to attend should be made to City Eye (see the link below) and you will have the opportunity to privately discuss with them what bursary support you might require.

The closing date for applications is 24 October.  This is also the day that City Eye is holding an open session for those who have applied or anyone thinking about it.  If you would like to head over to Southampton to check it out the session is on 24 October between 11am and 4pm. Visit the City Eye website to let them know you’re going.
