Portsmouth Film Society's 11th Pride LGBTQ+ Film F

Portsmouth Film Society's 11th Pride LGBTQ+ Film Festival 2025 🎉

This annual celebration of LGBTQ+ cinema coincides with LGBTQ+ History Month. Featuring a diverse lineup of films that explore the breadth of queer experiences and stories, celebrating diversity, resilience and creativity

The festival kicks off on Saturday, 1st February at 7 PM with a free double-bill screening of Victim and Different from the Others. Lord Mayor Councillor Jason Fazackarley will deliver the opening address, marking the beginning of this important cultural event.

1st February 7:00pm: Victim (UK, 1961) & Different from the Others (Germany, 1919)

5th February 7:00pm: Wildhood (Canada, 2022)

8th Feb 6:00pm: The Watermelon Woman (USA, 1997)

12th February + 19th February + 5th March 7:00pm: Queer Secret Film Club – Surprise screenings

14th February 6:00pm: Pretty Red Dress (UK, 2022)

22nd February 7:00pm: The Queen of My Dreams (Pakistan/Canada, 2024)

26th February 7:00pm: Queer Secret Film Club – Two surprise films!

1st March 7:00pm: The Lost Boys (France, 2023)

Artist Opportunity - Studio to rent🎨

Studio One is a rolling artist opportunity to rent a studio at Art Space Portsmouth for short periods of between two to four months, depending on needs.

The next open call is now open for applications for February 2025 onwards.

This is a brilliant opportunity for artists at any stage of their career, wanting a studio space to start or complete a project; test ideas and develop new work; or explore whether having a dedicated space would benefit your practice - all without the worry of making a big commitment.

Application Deadline:
Midnight Thursday 16th January 2025

Benefits include:
Being part of a studio community of 30 studio artists, plus an off-site artist community of 25+
Electricity & wi-fi included
24hr access
The opportunity to have an exhibition in their gallery at the end of the residency

This new application round will initially select an artist(s) for the first part of 2025, and potentially further into the year. So, if you can’t start in February don’t worry, please do apply, and if successful, you will be scheduled for later in the programme.
