Salary: In the range 50-60k dependant on capability

Portsmouth Creates is a brand-new Community Interest Company, formed to help lead a culturally led regeneration of Portsmouth. We plan to develop the city’s creative and cultural industries and act as a conduit for the vast array of talent and potential that exists and we will deliver this through exciting new programmes of collaboration. Our goal is engaging new audiences and making culture and creativity accessible to everyone within the city. Ultimately, we want the outside world and those who call the city home, to recognise Portsmouth as a cultural city.

To lead us in the challenge, we are seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to drive this vision forward and achieve great things within the city.

Supported by an enthusiastic and motivated new board of volunteer directors, the CEO will shape and develop Portsmouth Creates by initiating and nurturing a range of partnerships with new and existing cultural stakeholders, and both creative and business sectors of the city and the wider region.

The candidate will be somebody who is not afraid to cross boundaries in order to drive the vision forward and must share a genuine ambition to make Portsmouth a significant cultural player both nationally and internationally.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of leadership and strategic development at a senior level in a voluntary, commercial and/or public organisation, experience of managing strategy and budgets, extensive experience of fundraising

Portsmouth Creates has pledged to deliver its’ first major collaborative project to the people of the city ‘We Shine Portsmouth’ in 2020, Portsmouth’s first festival of light. The CEO will be responsible for brokering partnerships with new stakeholders and major organizations in order to obtain funding to bring this project to fruition, therefore, experience of funding applications and bid writing in addition to experience in leading major projects at a strategic level is essential.

Part-Time, Non – Executive Directors – Community Interest Company

Salary: Voluntary

Location: Portsmouth

Portsmouth Creates, a newly launched Community Interest Company, is looking for enthusiastic and passionate candidates to become part-time, non-executive volunteer directors to help shape and drive our vision of cultural and creative regeneration within Portsmouth.

We are looking for people who have a genuine interest in developing the cultural and creative sectors within the city and are willing to share their experience and expertise to support the Chief Executives’ role, enabling Portsmouth Creates to achieves its’ ambitions of collaboration and access to culture for everyone within the city. The first major collaborative project pledged to the people of the city will be ‘We Shine Portsmouth,’ due in 2020, which will bring local light artists, creatives and technicians together to create Portsmouth’s first festival of light.

Our non-exec directors will offer support in brokering and sustaining a network of partnerships with both key stakeholders and cultural practitioners within the city and bring real-world experience of working collaboratively to enable us to drive cultural, creative, social and economic development for all communities within Portsmouth.

As a director you will work with other board members to shape, drive and oversee strategic development and assist with ensuring correct management and administration of the company. You will be required to attend regular board meetings and assist with the decision making process, therefore, you will need to prepared to work within a team and able to make impartial decisions in order to ensure that Portsmouth Creates maintains its’ core values of independence, passion, transparency and community.

We are looking for directors with passion, positivity, integrity, strategic vision and a willingness to share their professional skills and who possess the commitment to dedicate time and effort to trustee duties.
