Now Recruiting: Chief Executive Officer
Closing date for applications is 28th May 2021
Salary: In the range 50-60k dependant on capability
Portsmouth Creates is a relatively new CIC, purpose-built to be a catalyst and help pioneer a culture-led regeneration of Portsmouth. We plan to develop the city’s creative and cultural industries and act as a conduit for the vast array of talent and potential that exists here. We will achieve this by facilitating an inspiring array of new programmes of collaboration opportunities.
Our goal is to engage new audiences and making culture and creativity accessible to everyone within the city irrespective of their postcode or their means. Ultimately, we want people outside the city and those who call it home, to recognise Portsmouth as a great cultural place.
To lead us in the challenge, we are seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Chief Executive Officer to drive this vision forward.
Supported by an enthusiastic and motivated board of volunteer directors, and backed by key investors including University of Portsmouth, Portsmouth City Council, Arts Council England and local, cultural entrepreneurs, the CEO will shape and develop Portsmouth Creates by initiating and growing a range of partnerships with new and existing cultural stakeholders, and both the creative and business sectors of the city and the wider region.
Portsmouth Creates is already on the way to deliver its first major collaborative project to the people of the city ‘We Shine Portsmouth’ in November 2021, Portsmouth’s first festival of light and street art and the CEO will be the figurehead of this city-wide, shared event.
The candidate will be somebody who is not afraid to cross boundaries in order to drive the vision forward and must share a genuine ambition to make Portsmouth a significant cultural player both nationally and internationally. Passion, energy and enthusiasm are an absolute must.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of leadership and strategic development at a senior level in a voluntary, commercial or public, arts or culture-centric organisation, experience of managing strategy and budgets and extensive experience of fundraising and building partnerships.
We actively seek personnel that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve and so encourage applications from those with less visibility in the sector.
We welcome applications from people who identify themselves as having a disability. Whilst we recognise that there may be some restrictions that apply to specific disabilities, Portsmouth Creates will adopt as flexible an approach as possible and seek to make reasonable adaptations to accommodate your needs.
Please send a CV and a covering letter via email to email@example.com explaining why you might be just the person we are looking for.
The closing date for applications is 28th May 2021.
