Where We Live – Stories About Portsmouth is a fun, free series of creative workshops for families with SEND children, running across four Portsmouth locations this summer.
Led by Seekers Create and SEND FACES, and supported by Portsmouth Creates as part of In Our Words 2025, these sessions invite families to explore their own stories through poetry, doodling, and imagination.
Inspired by the playful worlds of Roald Dahl and Dr. Seuss, families will create poems about their neighbourhoods, invent new characters and words, and bring it all to life through colourful doodles. Each workshop ends with a mini-exhibition, proudly displaying the work made in the space—turning community venues into creative galleries.
Workshops are open, inclusive, and designed especially for SEND families. No experience is needed, and all materials are provided—just bring your ideas and your imagination!
This project is part of In Our Words, a year-long celebration of storytelling, literature, and creativity across Portsmouth in 2025, led by Portsmouth Creates, a not-for-profit championing creativity for all.
Join us to connect, create, and celebrate your story—because where you live matters, and your voice deserves to be heard.
